My favorite book Master and Margarita

Books are the greatest treasure of mankind. At all times, it was highly valued in society. In the period of Kievan Rus, it was decorated with gold and precious stones and, as a result, it costed a lot of money.

There are many different books in the world. They are divided by genre, purpose, size, and design. I am sure that everyone is able to find in this variety of books the one that you will like the most. I’ve already founded the book which I liked and I want to tell you about it.

This is a book by a russian writer, playwright, theater director and actor. His name is Mikhail Bulgakov. The book is called “the Master and Margarita”. Although it is in the school curriculum, I read it at my own will a long time before we were supposed to read it at school. I was enjoyed reading it. The author put a lot of effort into working on the story and, as a result, the book reads in one breath.

Let’s talk about the plot of the book in more detail. It is very interesting and exciting from the first lines. The novel has several storylines, namely: the first is a love story of the Master and Margarita; the second line includes the events that occur with Voland and his team; the third line includes the events in the city of Jerusalem. The author masterfully combined all these lines into a single whole. “The Master and Margarita” is called “a novel in a novel” for a reason: the whole plot is built around the Master and his book.

In Bulgakov’s novel are raised important problems of society. Let’s look at some of them. The first problem is a question of morality. We can trace it in a situation where Pontius Pilate had a choice – to act justly and let Yeshua go, or to submit to the authorities and sign the death sentence of an innocent man. Unfortunately, the Procurator chose the second option and later regretted what he had done. The second problem is a problem of true love. It is revealed through the relationship between the Master and Margarita. They remain faithful to each other throughout the whole story and having overcome all obstacles at the end they receive eternal rest. The next problem that comes up throughout the story is the problem of wealth and poverty. In the novel, there are situations where people are shown not from the best side. For example, let’s take the part where Woland’s team performed in the theater. They put on a whole show with cutting off the head, a rain of money, a fashion store of expensive things, and gifts for all the audience there. In turn, people, because of their commercialism, willingly rushed to free gifts. But the whole situation is not so simple. In the novel “the Master and Margarita” Voland with his team and not good or evil characters. They play the role of avengers who punish people for their sins. Therefore, all the things that the audience received as a gift disappeared.

“The master and Margarita” is a novel with a very deep semantic content. You can learn a lot from it and draw certain conclusions. Some phrases from this work have become winged. For example, “manuscripts don’t burn”. This phrase has a great philosophical meaning and means that the word can neither be destroyed nor banned. I advise everyone to read this novel!
